Game Day Procedures for Friday, August 27, 2010

I will take roll PROMPTLY at 4:30pm.  If you are not in the room at that time, you will lose your third quarter privileges!  We will load the trailer at 4:30pm and the wheels on the bus will go ROUND AND ROUND at 5:00pm.  You will be given $6.00 for a meal to be purchased at the football game concession stand.  We will wear collared shirts, blue jeans and tennis shoes.  After the game, your parents may sign you out, but you must make arrangements for someone to unload your instrument back in Bremond.  YOU MUST STAY AT THE GAME until your equipment is loaded!  We should return to the school between 12:15-1:00am.  TRAVEL forms must be completed and signed in order for you to travel with the band.  Those will go out WEDNESDAY, and will be due back to me on Thursday!  

Remember T-shirt money and Fight Song memorization are both due on Wednesday, August 25th!  The shirts are $17.00.  Please make checks payable to Bremond Student Activity Fund.

AWESOMESAUCE!!!!!

Ok,...so I am weird,...but I think the Bremond Band is AWESOMESAUCE!!!!  What a phenomenal summer band we have had!  21st Century Breakdown is MEMORIZED!!!  That-a-way-to-beeee!!!!

I am going to try to begin setting drill on Wednesday so be prepared!  Come hydrated and ready to work!

T-shirts will be $17.00 each.  Please make a check payable to Bremond Activity Fund for $17.00 as soon as possible, but no later than next Wednesday, August 25th.  We will not have the shirts in time for the first game, but should be ready for the 2nd game.

Next Rehearsal: August 16 @ 6:00pm!

Just a reminder that the next full band rehearsal is on Monday, August 16th at 6:00pm! I moved it up 30 minutes so that we could maybe set our first drill!!! I'm excited for the first football game! Can't wait for the community to hear you play and watch you perform!

Don't forget your first memorization test is due NO LATER than August 18th at 4:00pm. I will not listen to anyone AFTER 4:00pm. PLEASE make plans to come in on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday to play for me! Don't put of until tomorrow, what you can do TODAY!

Rehearsal schedule for the week of August 16th is:

• Monday --> 6:00-8:30pm
• Tuesday--> 10am-12:00pm
• Wednesday -- 10am-12:00pm
• No Thursday Rehearsal is schedule as of this date.
• Friday is TBA

We WILL have a rehearsal the FIRST day of school from 6-8:30pm. I originally did not want to schedule one on the first day, but I also want to make sure we are prepared for the first football game, so we will rehearse.

Thanks again to everyone for your hard work and dedication to the band. I appreciate your giving up valuable summer rest to come hang out with me in the band hall! Looking forward to a great year!

One week down,...2 to go!  WOW!  I go home every day totally impressed with the bands progress!  I am so proud to be your director!  Having half of the first song MEMORIZED is totally awesome!  Thanks for your hard work (particularly out in the sun today!).  Special kudos go out to Dorian and Katlyn for helping out with the uniforms today, and to Neil, Chris and Lupree for working on drum cadences all afternoon!  COOL TUNES!  Oh,...and Thanks AUSTIN for the blue snow cone!  YUMMY!!!!!!  New favorite food!

Tomorrow we will be inside AND outside so make sure to HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!!!   Don't want any sick kiddo's out on the marching field!  

Looking forward to getting our new shirts!  We did alter the design slightly -- changed the hummingbird to a tiger paw print (that was a no brainer!).  Also -- am sharing a cool graphic that Katlyn drew for us (below).  Nice pic...looking for a place to use it!  Thanks for sharing your talents girl!  ;-)  Until later....

First Week a SUCCESS!

Hey Band!  GREAT first week of summer band practices!  Looks like we are 43 strong this year!  GREAT NUMBERS -- AWESOME BAND!  Thanks to everyone that took their instruments home for the weekend!  Please get on the "Green Day 2010" page on this blog and listen to the music and practice with it!  We have a lot of work to do next week with little time to prepare!

CHANGE OF SCHEDULE!

Please make sure you use the NEW schedule for the next two weeks!  Sorry about the changes, but we needed to adjust our schedule to accommodate for those involved in athletics.  Schedule is:

8/9   -->    5-8:30pm
8/10 -->  10-12pm
8/11 -->  10-12pm
8/13 -->  TBA
8/16 -->  TBA
8/17 -->  10-12pm
8/18 -->  10-12pm

Uniform fittings are:  For HIGH SCHOOL -->  August 10-11 from 3-4:30pm
                               For MIDDLE SCHOOL -->  August 17-18 from 3:00-4:30pm

GREAT start for and AWESOME BAND!!!!

WooooooooooHooooooooooooooo!  The Bremond Band is AWESOME!  43 strong as of Tuesday evening!  You have been doing a great job of working hard.  THANKS to everyone for giving up your valuable time to come hang out and play music for us!  I am really enjoying myself this year!  What a fun marching band!

The "Question" for a free ticket:  As you think, so shall you be,....._______________.  Finish this statement for a FREE TICKET!  Guess what my FAVORITE thing to shop for and you get another ticket......Tell me my all time favorite food and get yet ANOTHER free ticket!  That is 3 tickets....1 for coming to this site and answering the first question,...one for knowing something about your band director,...and one for listening in class so that you know the answer to the THIRD question!  LOL!!!

SCHEDULE FOR WEDNESDAY HAS CHANGED: We are having sectionals on Wednesday due to all of the scheduling conflicts we have with other activities....so...

1-2:00pm -- Flutes, Clarinets, Alto Saxophone and French Horn

2-3:00pm -- Percussion

3-4:00pm -- Low Brass and Trumpets

I hope everyone is having a good time in band this year.  I know we are gonna have an awesome year!  Keep up the good work and great spirit!  Can't wait to show off our stuff at the first football game!
